Am I a camper?

Until I saw what a camping site also can be at this absolutely gorgeous designed camping place  near San Fransisco, not ten wild horses could drag me to a camping site. Yes I am perhaps a bit of a luxury girl when it comes to accommodation, facilities in bath and toilet etc when on a holiday, but I love being in the nature, having a camp fire and having a barbeque, just not living in it. Until now! I would absolute love to go and experience this fantastic site and believe I could actually enjoy the life of a camper. Autocamp.com is the name and is situated north of San Fransisco. The complex includes 24 luxury Airstream trailers, 10 fully equipped luxury tents, and a communal lounge pavilion that takes its design cues from mid-century modern architecture. Dan Weber architects designed the lounge pavillion while Lauren Geremia is responsible for all interior design. I totally love it and must go, what do you think…

Riad…

I have a thing for the Marrakech living, not that I at all practice the look full on in my work or in my own home, but I like to mix the foreign mystery with the modern northern lifestyle. I believe it gives some warmth to the interior spaces and a more personal and individual look to any indoor or outdoor living area. Anyway the fascination of the Riad is endless. I have found some goodies from around the world that I would love to visit. What do you think…

The boat house…………….

Boat houses were and still are used to store boats and fishing gear in Norway, but today they are more common for recreational summer use. This old boat house was in really bad shape and ready to get pulled down. The architect firm TYIN tegnestue designed this fantastic new boat house reusing a lot of the old material in different shapes and places. It is clean and simple and only the necessary things are here for a relaxing and recreational holiday, weekend or day of……………….Cool stuff!

 

I really love the work of the photographer  Pasi Aalto who has been posted here on my blog before. He captures the feeling and atmosphere so well in his work.

Purity………….

2013 is a fantastic number! I can feel the new energy, the batteries have been recharged, motivation is back on track and ready for kick off!!! Today I am preparing for a fantastic project that includes outdoor design and wanted to share these fab pictures with my readers who are so lucky that spring is on and summer is something just around the corner. I came around the fantastic three: Guard Tillman Pollock Achitects. The 3 started in 2002 and  specialize in the development of elegant, functional and modernist design. I love the outdoor meets indoor, the clean look of their mind set and they have inspired me many times………Hope to inspire you on your garden preparation in the minimalistic way

To the man who has it all………………..

Today I was enriched with three totally new (to me) web stores that just hit my mood of shopping today. All 3 shops have great items for the home but actually most important they have really really cool gift ideas for the man you never know what to get, either cause he has it all or because he never can give you a straight answer what he wishes for x-mas, birthdays etc. Well I got inspired and just want to say: “from me to you………….”

Decor spirit…………..

Yes I did it! I have startet getting ready for the big night……….Christmas eve. Little things but huge steps……………

 

I really enjoy putting out the little things here and there and actually think this will (almost) be it this year, well except for the tree which will come inside on the morning of the 24th, always have and always will.

Rustic in the french Alps……………….

Oh my god! When I first saw this It looked like some old forgotten barn, but looking closer this is so cool and thought through that I want to live here! Well during Christmas break anyway…….. I love the work that interior designer Lionel Jadot has done here. The mix of the old meets new meeting vintage is unreal. The fireplace invites you to sit down and enjoy your vin chaud while the kids are playing around in this huge living area/family room. The kitchen is so unexpected, fun but cool that I really got inspired. So lets sit back and enjoy the peace and quit in this joint……ps can see all my new x-mas decor hanging here………….

White christmas……….

Hopefully we will have a white Christmas here………..the snow is hitting us hard these days and chaos on the roads is a fact, but nevertheless it is fantastic, if we again, are so fortunate to celebrate the big day dressed all in white. The whiteness of this holiday just makes it more original. I found some white decor for the tree that I will decorate mine with this year. The first items are from a British-Japanese designer Reiki Kaneko who makes beautiful china. Her collections are often produced by combining 3D modeling programmes with centuries-old expertise from makers in Stoke-on-Trent, England. I love her work and you should check it out at her website if you are looking for newies, but I specifically fell hard for her Christmas decor that has a bit of humor, naivety and fun to it.

Another supplier that I personally like and often end up shopping stuff from is the Housedoctor company. They offer a wide range for your home including furniture, their prices are absolutely affordable and they follow the main trends and always up to date…………
